Lashon BurrellChief Executive Officer/ Executive ChefLashon Burrell is the Founder and Executive of Cajun Cafe Chicago, a culinary venture that celebrates the flavors and traditions of southern cuisine. Lashon's journey in the culinary world began in 2009 when she relocated from East St. Louis to Chicago to pursue her passion for cooking and attend culinary school. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts in 2012, Lashon continued expanding her skillset and knowledge by working in various roles within the industry. Alongside her work, she relentlessly pursued her education and obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration. In 2020, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Lashon decided to launch her business with an intimate dining experience. By personally connecting and networking with clients through food and culture, she managed to carve a niche for herself in the industry. In 2022, Lashon secured her first annual contract with Catholic Charities, which allowed her to acquire a private kitchen at the Hatchery Chicago dedicated to her culinary creations. Now, entering her second year, Lashon has expanded her services to include corporate dining, community engagement, weddings and special events. It is truly an honor to share my craft with the world while bringing the South to the Midwest. |
